A bit about me
Chloe Hall (RD), BSc, MSc- The Calm Gut Dietitian
I set up The Calm Gut Dietitian as I am so passionate about ensuring that everyone has access to the support they need if suffering with gut health issues, histamine intolerance, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) or post covid symptoms/long covid. I have worked in the NHS for over 10 years and continue to do so alongside working privately and raising a toddler. I grew up in a family where members have Coeliac disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) so I have always been aware of the impact these conditions can have. In addition to that I have had my own struggles with gut symptoms and have had to learn to manage these. I have a specific interest in histamine intolerance, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and Postural Orthostatic Taychcardia (POTs) as my husband has these conditions and we have found that there is little awareness of these. My son, also, has a milk allergy, so I am very used to adapting meal plans for multiple dietary restrictions as in our family we, unfortunately, have multiple.

Experience:
I started my career working in a busy teaching hospital and covered cardiac, trauma, elderly care and gastro wards as part of my rotations as well as running a Gestational Diabetes Clinic. I went on to work as a Research Dietitian on a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) trial. Following that I moved to my current role as a Community Dietitian in the NHS, where I am a clinical lead for gastroenterology and have set up a Gastro clinic, with excellent feedback. As part of this gastro clinic I see patients with IBS, post covid gastro symptoms, Coeliac Disease, IBD, Diverticular disease and histamine intolerance and/or MCAS.
I have volunteered as an advisor for The IBS Network, the UK’s national charity for IBS, since 2018 (www.theibsnetwork.org/about-us/our-advisory-board). I have, also, been a Media Spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association since 2015 and have worked with newspapers, magazines and radio shows. I have, also, presented at conferences including a presentation on Coeliac Disease at Food Matters Live. I am, also, on the Dietetic Advisory board for Mast Cell Action (Home | Mast Cell Action) , a UK charity that supports those with MCAS.
